Mayabaktun.com is a website dedicated to all of our ancestors who have preceded us the Mayan people of Guatemala. We honor our elders and spiritual leaders who have resisted and left us with a rich and unique heritage and knowledge, which includes languages, beliefs, architecture, astronomy, mathematics and especially a strong pride that motivates us to preserve our culture for the future generations.

The Mayan culture maintains a continuity that has been achieved thanks to the knowledge that has been passed from generation to generation through oral tradition.

Our people have suffered of racism and ethnic cleansing from the current dominant society since the European invasion which still going on today, in order to exterminate the heritage of the Mayans. But we are still here and our culture and pride is still alive and strong.

We are a community organization focused on preserving and sharing the knowledge of our elders, the spiritual leaders of the Maya people. We work directly with most of the regions in Guatemala that have different Indigenous languages.
